Mission: To Outsmart Mommy

The tale of Isaac versus Mommy: We have this singing snowman, and Caleb does not always like it. Isaac was playing with it, but he was mostly tormenting his brother by chasing him around the house with it. He would not stop. . . So, it ended up on top of the refrigerator in a toy "time out." Isaac was not happy with me. As I was making lunch I saw a light bulb go on inside Isaac's little head. . . and he went upstairs. I KNEW what he was going to do. He had gone to get his step-stool that we keep in his bathroom by the sink. He brought it down, set it by the fridge, and reached. . . Failure. Then he went over to the toy basket and grabbed the see-n-say, set it on top of the stool, and tried again, all the while giving me an "I'll show you, Mommy" gaze. Again, failure. So he went and grabbed a stuffed rattle toy and tried again. . . Oh, failure! Mission Aborted. . . (And it was SO hard not to laugh during all of this.

Curls!

We've decided to let Caleb's hair grow out for awhile - just to see what happens. The kid absolutely hates hair cuts, so. . . why not?! He looks pretty shaggy sometimes. . . but add a little gel and the curls appear. And I love them!

He's BACK. . .

Elvis the Elf has found his way back to our house this year. Elvis visits our home every day and then flies off to the North Pole each night to report to Santa. Each morning he'll be in a new spot. He's found a few new hiding places, and he seems to enjoy spying on the kids. The kids like to find him every morning, and Isaac is especially interested in him, wanting to know each night if Elvis has left for the North Pole yet. . .

It's MAIL time!

Isaac wrote his letter to Santa yesterday. We took it into town and mailed it, using the very special mailbox at the post office. Hopefully Santa will get it just in time for Christmas!

Basketball

Isaac has been playing basketball every Sunday for the past few weeks. He has definitely improved each week. The dance moves have decreased. However, today the superhero/Spiderman moves made an appearance. . . he's having fun, though.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. . . we had turkey, ham, cheesy potatoes, corn, mashed potatoes, rolls, jello, mac-n-cheese, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, mountain berry pie, tollhouse pie, and apple cake! Needless to say, we're still FULL! Grammy, Teddy, Jared, Line-Line, Nick, Great Grandmother, and Great Granddad all came. We had a great day!
Nick and Isaac played a little Chutes and Ladders!
The twins are READY to eat!

What Christmas Looks Like at Our House

We've got all of the decorations up! I thought I'd share some pictures of our home at Christmastime! It is hard to decorate with 3 little ones who want to get their hands on everything, but we try to make it fun for them, too. We hung the stockings up, and they stayed there about 5 minutes. We just knew someone would end up with stitches by pulling on the stocking and pulling the hanger down. . . we'll get them out again on Christmas Eve, of course!
I put Christmas books and fun toys out on the kids' table. They love the little Christmas figures and Mr. Potato Head - aka - Santa Spud.
This is my personal favorite Christmas "decoration" from this year: A Polar Express Train Set.
Isaac loves it! It even came with a silver bell!
We believe! Little People Nativity set - the kids love it!
Our Christmas Tree
Snowman Family
Nativity
I also have my Snow Village out. It looks pretty above my kitchen cabinets. In the basement (which is Notre Dame - themed) we have some ND Santas that we've collected over the years. I know, I know. . . it isn't even Thanksgiving yet! But we love it! The kids have had so much fun discovering all of this new "stuff." I can tell it is going to be such a fun Christmas at the Haugh house!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Isaac was so excited to decorate the tree. He did a great job helping!
All done!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree. . .

We headed over to Noblesville to Stonycreek Farm to pick out our Christmas tree today. It is the first time we've gotten a "real" tree, so we were excited. We went on a hayride out to the nursery and cut our own tree down after we found the perfect one! The weather was perfect, and we had a great time. The kids all wore their Colts Santa hats. . . it is game day, after all!

Buzz Lightyear Fan Club

My kids are all big Toy Story fans, especially since returning from our trip to Disney World. However, Caleb has become quite the super-fan. He plays with the Toy Story figures ALL of the time. He is constantly yelling, "Buzz. . . Lightyear!" Isaac has had his pair of Buzz Lightyear pajammies for quite awhile, and Caleb loves them. So when I got a $10 off coupon to JC Penney's, I decided to go look for some Buzz pajammies for Caleb, too. And boy did he think he was big stuff tonight. . . he was flying around the house full of Buzz Lightyear pride.

My Sweet Olivia

It was just before naptime today, and the kids were all playing nicely. I ran upstairs to fold a load of laundry so I wouldn't be messing with it while the kids were napping. When I came downstairs I started to clean-up toys, and I was having trouble finding all of the pieces to the tea set. I asked Isaac if he knew where they were and then looked out in the office to see if they were out there. Still couldn't find them. . . so I walked into the kitchen and saw this:
While I was upstairs, my sweet little girl was taking care of her baby doll (on the left - you can only see part of her hat) and her pig. They each have a plate, a spoon, and a cup (she even matched the colors). The baby doll also has a bottle, and the pig has a cookie. I asked Isaac if he did it, and he said no. . . so I know it was Olivia. I just thought it was so sweet and was so impressed with her little imagination.

Christmas in Pendleton

One of our favorite things about Pendleton is how the town gets into things. Every year we have "Christmas in Pendleton." The decorations are out and lit up, we have a parade, and we even have a snowball fight! The shops are filled with Christmas goodies, and everyone goes to town to enjoy it! I took Isaac down to enjoy the parade and snowball fight (the twins were napping). We stopped at the park gazebo to get a picture on our way down to town.
This is what State Street looks like during the snowball fight. . . tons of people throwing Styrofoam balls at each other!
Isaac is READY!
Getting his game face on!
And here we go. . .
Good throw, Isaac!
He kept going back to get more "snow."
Having so much fun!
Another smile!
We met up with our pal Vinny during the parade!
It's SANTA!
We had a great time today! It was a great day to enjoy Christmas in Pendleton!
(And now Mommy is in the mood to get all of the Christmas decorations out. . . )

November 13, 2009

We've been invaded. . .

by a crew of little pirates!
Caleb, Olivia, and Isaac play "pirates" on a daily basis. They all grab their hooks and telescopes and you here "Arr's" galore! Olivia will come up to you and give you an "Arr" and will not leave until you say it back to her! They even use pirate voices. . . since I am a speech pathologist I keep warning Isaac that he is hurting his voice, but he insists that pirates must talk this way. I finally have (a little) sympathy for those parents I've scolded over the years about their kids using healthy voices!! Every so often my pirates will start singing the chorus of "Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A pirate's life for ME!" Caleb has even started using his hook to open cabinets and pick up things off of the floor. It can get a little rowdy, but they sure put on a good show!

Grandparent's Day!

Isaac had a Grandparent's Day Program at his school today! Grammy and Teddy were able to come. (PapaJohn and Grandma live a little too far away. . . ) Isaac was very excited to have Grammy and Teddy visit.
Let's get this party started. . .
The kids performed a little program for the grandparents. Isaac's little partner didn't want to dance with him, so Ms. Jenny stepped in!
There they go. . .
The kids did an art project with their grandparents, too. Then they got to eat some yummy pumpkin bread!
Grammy and Teddy took Isaac to McDonald's after school for lunch, and of course, he loved that! Unfortunately I have no pictures of Grammy and Teddy WITH Isaac on Grandparent's Day. . . hopefully Ms. Jenny will send me one! Thanks for coming, Grammy and Teddy!

Snuggle Puppy

Untitled from Katy Haugh on Vimeo.

Olivia LOVES the book, Snuggle Puppy! We read it/sing it almost every night! She really gets into it, and it is so cute that we had to share. Sorry the video is so dark. (I get a little giggly at the end, too, so that is why my voice starts to shake.)

A trip to the pediatrician. . .

I took the kids to the pediatrician this morning! The twins had their 2-year well visits, and all 3 kiddos got some flu vaccinations. Luckily, the twins were both able to get their seasonal flu vaccines and their 1st doses of the H1N1 vaccine. Isaac only received an H1N1 vaccine for now. We'll go back again in a few weeks to get the rest. . . Thanks again to Debbie, who came with me! It is so hard to handle all 3 of them alone, especially when it is time to get vaccinations!

Caleb just did so well! He barely fussed when he went to get weighed and measured (which always scares the twins for some reason) and hardly made a sound when he got his seasonal flu shot! Olivia was NOT happy when I took her clothes off and so that carried on to the scales, but she really wasn't THAT bad. . . at least it didn't take 2 nurses to hold her down this time!

Here are their stats, and I remembered to write down their percentiles this time:

Olivia - 26 pounds, 12 ounces (50th percentile); 34 1/2 inches tall (75th percentile)
Caleb - 27 pounds, 8 ounces (50th percentile); 35 1/2 inches tall (75th-80th percentile)

For some reason (I have no idea where they're getting it), both of the twins are TALL! The last time we went to the doctor they said Olivia was longer/taller than Caleb, but I knew that was wrong and was the result of her throwing a fit on the scale. . . they're completely average in weight. Some people seem to think they are big for their age, which bothers me for some reason, but they're just normal! Dr. Freeman said they looked wonderful. They are right on track developmentally. They eat, sleep, and play like they should! They're doing great! Time has gone so fast! Dr. Freeman even said she can't believe they're already 2!

November 02, 2009

Two years ago. . .

It is so hard for me to believe that Caleb and Olivia are TWO YEARS OLD! The time has gone so fast, especially the last year. So much has happened - the twins have learned so many things - walking, running, talking, singing, feeding themselves, etc. . . they're right on track!
Caleb continues to be a little more easygoing and content. . . well, most of the time. Trust me, he has his moments. His favorite thing to do right now is to play pirates! He loves to grab his telescope, hat, sword, and hook and runs around saying "Arr. . . " He will pretty much eat anything you offer him and now has a mouthful of teeth. He loves to play with Isaac and Olivia and is really into Mickey Mouse. He also could be awarded with the "Most Likely to Fall Down" award. The kid trips, falls down, runs into things. . . He does NOT like to get his hair cut, but he'll let you brush his teeth all day! Caleb is probably more of a "Daddy's Boy," but he still wants his Mommy from time to time. Caleb sleeps in his big boy bed all night long and still takes a nice long 2+ hour nap.
Miss Olivia is still full of spice - and a little bit of sugar. She is definitely a "Mama's Girl." If someone starts to talk to her when we're out and about, the first thing she does is point to me and says "Mommy." She likes to let people know. She loves to do puzzles and read books. Olivia also absolutely loves to sing. Most kids her age and raised in a house like ours would be learning to sing "Jesus Loves Me" or the "B-I-B-L-E." But Olivia's favorite song to sing would have to be the pirate song, which plain and simple is "Yo Ho Yo Ho a Pirate's Life for Me!" She is finally getting some more bottom teeth! I was worried they'd never come! She is a pretty good eater and is definitely aware of where the candy bowl is kept. She also can be a little tattletale. One day she was crying, and I asked her what was wrong. Her response: "Isaac MEAN!"
Having twins is not easy - especially when also trying to raise their older brother - but it is so special and I'm so grateful we were blessed with twins. We look forward to all they will become. We're enjoying every moment! We go to the doctor on Friday for our 2 year check up (and some flu vaccines), so I will update their stats then! Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!

Birthday Fun!

It was SO nice outside today, so we decided to head down to Falls Park to play and celebrate Olivia and Caleb's special day!
Fun, fun!
Run, Olivia, run!
Isaac enjoyed being outdoors today.
CHEESE!
(He actually IS saying "cheese" here. . . )
Love those dimples!
Now it is Olivia's turn to say, "Cheese!"
Caleb and Daddy
(It won't surprise those of you who know Caleb that I had tried to take a picture of him sitting on the bench - - - and he fell off. The boy is SO accident-prone! So, Daddy jumped in to sit with him!)
You can tell he is already thinking of what he'll do next. . .
Loving the swings!
Whee!
So happy together. . .
There's that Isaac again. . .
Happy Guy
Not sure about this moving bridge. . .
After we left the park we headed to Dairy Queen for dinner and ice cream!
Happy Birthday, Olivia!
Happy Birthday, Caleb!
We love you!

Isaac's 1st Basketball Game

Isaac had his first basketball game today! He was so excited to play! He had quite the cheering section - Mommy, Daddy, Olivia, Caleb, Line-Line, Debbie, and John were all there to watch him. The lighting in the gym is terrible, and I didn't bring the good camera. . . but here are a few pictures.
Score!
Waiting his turn!
Hustle!
Passing drills with his new friend. . .
Dribble, dribble!
Isaac's idea of good defense is to stand right underneath the basket!
Bringing the ball down the court!
We need to work on his shooting form. . . but he did have a few good shots!
Pretty good defensive stance. . .
Isaac had so much fun! He's excited to go down in the basement and practice with Daddy now. We need to work on some things - such as dribbling, shooting, defense, and decreasing the sweet dance moves he seems to think are part of the game.

Happy Halloween!

One of the neighbors wanted to take their pictures!
(I wish I could get them to stand this still for me!)
Here's that sheriff again!
I guess we'll let this little stinker have some candy!
(It's our friend, Vinny. . . )
The kids had so much fun trick-or-treating! I was surprised by how much the twins loved it. Caleb was especially good about stealing an extra piece or two of candy from our kind neighbors. At one house they had a bowl full of snack-size AND full-size candy bars. . . and he went right for the full size one! Caleb did get a little scared of a boy wearing a Darth Vader costume, and we just couldn't seem to get away from him, so we had a few frightful moments. Olivia did a nice job leaving her ears on. . . for awhile anyway! She thought she was big stuff and carried her heavy pumpkin the whole time, refusing help if offered! Isaac didn't seem to know a stranger and introduced himself and his brother and sister to everyone. He also embarrassed us a few times by flat-out telling a few candy-givers, "Well, I already have a sucker!" Oh. . . life is never boring!

Pigs!

Olivia needed some pajammies, so last week I bought her some new ones. I thought she'd like the little pigs on the feet. A few days later, Miss Debbie took the kids to Kohl's and let them each pick a stuffed animal. Olivia picked a piggy! She LOVES her little pig pajammies (she calls her jammies "PIGS!") and sleeps with her arm around her stuffed pig, who also accompanies her downstairs every morning and after naptime! So cute! I think it will be a long, long time before I can explain ham and bacon to this pig-lover!

October 30, 2009

A Visit to Crystal's. . .

We had a play-date at Crystal's house this morning! The kids had fun playing with "new to them" toys - and they loved seeing Miss Virginia again! I didn't get very many pictures, unfortunately. I'll have to see if I can steal some of Crystal's. . .

Sick. . .

We've been sick at the Haugh house. Olivia is still fighting a cough. All three kiddos have had runny noses from time to time, and Mr. Isaac has run a fever since Tuesday. Because the fever never hit 101 degrees or higher, the doctor advised us just to treat him at home. He was averaging temperatures from 99 to 100.5 - - - really not too bad. Still, Mommy wanted him to take some Tylenol to reduce the fever. But this little guy has decided that all medicine is "yucky." He runs away, hides, spits it out, and comes up with any and every excuse in the book not to take it. Here he is hiding from me this morning when I wanted to give him a little Benedryl to help dry up the runny nose. He took the Benedryl fine two weeks ago when he had his rash, but today it magically turned "yucky." The fever seems to be gone today (thank goodness). I don't know how much more of the medicine madness I could handle!

Livi's Turn!

We have been talking to Olivia about sleeping in her "big girl bed" for about the past week, so we decided to give it a try today!
At first it didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped. . . but we weren't too surprised.
She only cried about a minute. So far so good!

Disney Vacation

We had a wonderful time on our vacation to Disney World! We drove there, stopping halfway in Georgia to stay at Grandma and Papa's each way. Grandma and Papa were able to come with us for a few days. It was fun to spend some time with them. We did so many things throughout the week: meals with characters, a Halloween party, different theme parks, etc. . . We never made it to Epcot. Figuring that the kids would enjoy Magic Kingdom the most, we spent most of our time there. It was my first time to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Both were fun, but I liked Animal Kingdom a little more. It was HOT HOT HOT there - in the 90s most of the week. You can tell by the pictures that we're sweating quite a bit! We also experienced a couple torrential Florida downpours, but they never lasted long. . . we had nice weather most of the trip. With 3 young kiddos, we also had several meltdowns. A friend told me, though, that when you have a meltdown at Disney World it is called a Magical Meltdown! I think I took over 400 pictures and have spent the entire day loading them and posting them on the blog. If you have the time. . . enjoy!

Day 1: Hotel and Pool (9-26-09)

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. The servers are funny, and they do a lot of fun things. We all had to do the Hokey-Pokey, and all of the kids get to race "hobby horses." Isaac loved it!
Go Isaac!

I would definitely recommend the Halloween Party. . . had I known better I would have planned our day differently because we spent all day at Magic Kingdom and then came back that night for the party. It was such a long day for us, and I know we would've had a little more fun had we planned our day differently. Still, it was a great time, and I hope we can go again someday!

Breakfast with Donald at Animal Kingdom (9-30-09)

We ate Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy were all there to visit with us as we had our breakfast. The kids had a lot fun!

Mickey's Backyard B-B-Q (10-1-09)

On Thursday evening (our last night), we took the kids to Mickey's Backyard B-B-Q. The kids had a fabulous time. They loved dancing with the characters, and it really was so much fun! Olivia and Isaac REALLY got into the dancing and made their ways up to the characters in no time. Caleb was a little more shy, but he did love dancing when the characters weren't too close-by! Goofy greeted us as we came in.
Olivia is ready to dance with Goofy already!
They had drums and games and chalk set out for the kids to play with while we waited. Evidence of the chalk is all over Olivia's face. . .
Caleb loved the drums!

Disney-Bound!

We leave bright and early tomorrow morning for our first Disney vacation as a family of 5! The kids are so excited, and we can't wait to see how excited they'll be once we get to Magic Kingdom! I'll try to update the blog if I can. . . Praying for safe travels, good weather, fun times, and. . . to be honest. . . sanity!

September 13, 2009

We love our Indianapolis Colts!

Teddy was ready to go to the big game.
Caleb and Olivia sure have their game faces on! Our own little "Bob Sanders."
She's tough - just like Bob (who didn't play today)!
But she's SO much cuter than Bob, especially with those pig tails!
Go Blue!
Caleb preferred to get his picture taken with Daddy today!

Pledge Leader!

Isaac was the "pledge leader" last week at school. I was very impressed that he knows all of the words to the Pledge of Allegiance, and I think he must have done a great job!! video

He's quite the wiggle-worm, isn't he?! I wonder if he sits this still in class??? And yes, I know that he is putting the wrong hand on his heart. . . I was a little focused on keeping up with all of the movement and didn't notice until it was too late. . . oh well. . .

Fireworks!

Someone in town was setting off fireworks tonight, so Isaac and I went out on the front porch to watch some of them. He was so excited!

September 02, 2009

22 MONTHS OLD!

They're getting SO CLOSE to 2! It is just so hard for me to believe. As you can see, the twosome can climb up onto the bar stools now (oh yay). I have to really watch the computer and make sure I don't put any drinks up there anymore. They really think they're something! (And they are!) They also like to brush their teeth (after Mommy does it). They even love to share their toothbrushes and switch them frequently. Why not?! They share everything else! Their little vocabularies continue to grow, and they are starting to use little phrases now (right on track). I thought I'd share 22 of the words/phrases they use frequently in honor of their 22 months! This is just a sampling. . . they are saying new words daily!
1. Mommy - Daddy (of course)
2. Hi, Bye-Bye, Night-Night
3. Isaac (Caleb calls him Gic-Gic; Olivia actually says something very close to Isaac).
4. Line-Line, Nick, Grammy, Teddy, Jared, Grandma, Papa, Tony, Debbie, Oliver. . . they love their family!
5. Are you? (aka Where are you?)
6. More, please!
7. milk, water
8. shoes, socks
9. Dog
10. Elmo-Dora-Mickey-Big Bird
11. ball, car
12. on, out,off
13. MINE!
14. Thank you!
15. Baby
16. My turn!
17. POOP!
18. Bath
19. cookie - cracker - pizza-nana (banana) - hot dog - grapes - cheese (they love to eat!)
20. Yeah or Mmm-Hmm (love this one) and of course, NNNNNNNNNO!
21. Blankie
22. Mon! Mon! (Come on! Come on!)
They combine a lot of these words together to form phrases and will pretty much repeat anything you ask them to say. Both of the twins are starting to sing now, too. Very cute. They sing the alphabet song and of course. . . The Backyardigans and BOZ theme songs! They name each of our family members now, name animals, name body parts, etc. . . they are also starting to recognize and name letters. They call most of them "D" right now, but it is still fun. Caleb named W the other day - it was so cute! Isaac knew all of his letters by now, so we have been working with these two on this. They're a lot of fun, and they change all of the time! We'll continue to keep you posted. . .

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Isaac and Mommy made cupcakes for Daddy's birthday. As you can see, ALL of the kids enjoyed them! So did Daddy! Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Safety Day

Today was Safety Day at the Pendleton Fire Station. I took Isaac down to explore all of the fun stuff they had going on (twins were napping). Isaac really enjoyed seeing all of the firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars. He even got to sit inside a firetruck AND a helicopter, and we went on a ride on a firetruck, too!

Time with the TWINS!

Since Isaac has been at preschool every morning so far this week, I have been able to spend a lot of time with the twins. It has been kind of fun to hang out with Caleb and Olivia and give them a little more attention. It's neat to see how they interact when Isaac isn't around. We have been running errands, going on walks, going to the library, etc. . . It has been a lot of fun.
Quite the DUO. . .
A new way to ride a scooter?
P.S. Don't worry. Isaac gets his "Mommy time," too. . . we have our afternoons together while the twins take their naps.

Whatever works!

Caleb decided to sit in this tub - about the size of a shoe box - to read his books today.

Isaac's First Day of Preschool

Isaac started school today at his new preschool in town. He is going to be a typical peer at the developmental preschool in the public elementary school where I used to work BT (before twins); each developmental class has 2 typical peers who are there to model age-appropriate speech-language, social, and behavioral skills (yikes). Of course, they get to do a lot of fun things and learn a lot, too! It is an awesome program with so many benefits (licensed teachers, small class size, field trips, special events, etc. ) that I used to be very involved in when I worked there, and I always hoped Isaac would be able to be a typical peer when he was old enough. He will go there 4 mornings a week! He was SO excited to get started at his new school today!
Ready to go!
And we are definitely in the "awkward smile" stage. . .

Cold, Rainy Day = MONKEY JOE'S!!!!

Grammy, Teddy, and Jared were visiting this weekend. It was a cold and rainy morning, so we thought we'd try out Indy's Monkey Joe's (a place we went to down in Fayetteville, Georgia this summer). The kids had a blast, and it was a really nice place to go! Line-Line met us there, too! We had a great time. Some of the pictures are a little blurry. . . hard to catch the quick movements of the little ones at times!

Arrrh!

The kids have been loving this pirate dress-up costume of theirs. Caleb was running around saying, "Arrh!" all night!

A Happy Close-Up!

Puzzle Queen

Olivia has really been enjoying puzzles lately. She is able to complete them (your basic 9-piece puzzles) without help at all, which amazes me! Then she dumps them and starts over!

Wear them down. . .

Mommy took the kids out to a church in town this evening. Isaac rode his bike around the walking path (approximately 1 mile) and pushed the twins in the stroller. Then we played on the playground! Mommy loves to wear the kids out by being outside. . . and gets worn out herself!

Go Colts!

My parents have season tickets to the Colts this year. They decided not to go to the first pre-season game tonight, and they let us have their tickets. We thought it would be a good time for Nate to take Isaac, knowing he wouldn't last too long and it wouldn't be a big deal if they left early since the starters don't play much anyway. So, Daddy and Isaac went to the game while Mommy and the twins walked down to the Circle Center Mall for a little bit!

We were able to park in the parking garage you see on the left because Nate parks there for work. It was nice that we didn't have to pay $20 for parking!

Indiana State Fair!

The kids loved the Little Hands on the Farm exhibit. The kids all get their own aprons and baskets and have jobs they are to do as they go through the exhibit. At the end of the exhibit, the kids "sell" their goods at the market and then are able to buy some items that are made from things grown on a farm. Such a cute exhibit. The kids loved it!
They even had a BROCK bin!

Little Mama

Olivia has been playing "house" lately. . . putting her stuffed monkey in her high chair. It's so cute! And she calls the monkey "Ah-Ah." Not sure if she is just making a monkey "sound" or if she is thinking of "Ooh" and "Ah" on the Disney Channel.

Splash Park!

We decided to beat the heat and go visit the splash park/playground at Dillon Park today! We were able to meet up with Crystal and Virginia (her sweet little foster daughter). It was great to catch up, and the kids had a lot of fun!
Run, run, run!
The 3 brave ones. . . Olivia wouldn't get wet today (which is totally not like Olivia).

Steamy Day!

Summer has finally arrived in Indiana! Just in time for the state fair and school starting. . . It was very hot (and muggy/sticky) today, so we got the pool and sprinklers out. The kids had a great time! And apparently our children are dehydrated because they all thought they needed to drink straight out of of the sprinklers!

Don't you wish you could join them?!

August 08, 2009

PIGTAILS!

I put Olivia's hair in pigtails tonight for church. She looked so stinking cute! I tried to get a good picture of her, but she ran away from me (laughing) every time I pointed the camera at her. This was the best one I could come up with. You can see one of the little piggy-tails, though. You can also see the pure look of mischief on her face! I can't wait to try some pigtails again. Girls are so fun!

Silly Twins

Olivia insisted on wearing her shades during dinner tonight. She kept pulling them down to look at us, though. She's such a stinker!
High 5's for Mommy!
Too much noise for Caleb. (Dinners at our house are anything BUT peaceful!)

August 07, 2009

Daddy Time!

The kids had a blast playing with Daddy tonight. They love to get on the floor and roughhouse! Although Nate doesn't look like he's having all that much fun. . . he's loving it, too! Mommy definitely enjoyed watching all of the madness!

21 MONTHS OLD

It's time. As hard as it is to believe, the twins are starting to climb out of their cribs. We decided we had to separate them into their own rooms soon (following the advice of another mom of boy-girl twins who said not to wait too long or it would be very hard), so we have been getting their new bedrooms ready. We haven't moved them into their beds yet, but they are now in separate rooms. It has been a fun move, but kind of sad at the same time. They are just growing up so fast!
